The EPA is now soliciting application for the 2020 Environmental Education grants. Further details may be found further below. “EPA is pleased to announce the availability of up to $3 million in funding for locally-focused environmental education projects under the 2020 Environmental Education Grant Program. EPA will award three to four grants in each of the agency’s 10 regions. Groups interested must submit their application by Jan. 6, 2020, to be considered. This grant program provides financial support for projects that design, demonstrate, and/or disseminate environmental education practices, methods, or techniques.”
Some possible pesticide related project focus areas may include: “Ensuring the safety of chemicals.
a. 1. Work on Integrated Pest Management to achieve the most environmentally effective management of pests in the agricultural setting.
b. 2. Work collaboratively on Integrated Vegetation Management issues for the maximum in environmental benefits; for example, for maintaining native species within public rights-of-way.
c. 3. Work to educate school-aged children, their parents, and the community on pesticide and environmental health issues; e.g., maintaining school gardens to teach about pesticide management.”
