Ways to save money during COVID-19 by Chantay Moore
We are seeing more and more policies and financial relief efforts being made to help the average American family save more money and cut back on their expenses. Here are some tips to take advantage of these relief efforts so you can keep more money in your pocket:
1) Contact your car insurance company and see if they are offering rebates, discounts, or extensions on policies since a lot of us are simply not driving as much. We are seeing several major insurance companies giving money back to consumers just because of COVID-19.
2) Contact your credit card and loan companies to ask for payment assistance, payment deferrals, and/or waived fees for late payments. Again, a lot of creditors are providing relief to consumers who simply don’t have the extra funds to pay their debts during these uncertain times.
3) Cancel reoccurring subscriptions that you are not using and those that are not essential. Why pay for a monthly gym membership that you can’t go to? What about movie, club, or other entertainment subscriptions you can’t take advantage of right now? In normal times, its so easy to sign up for small monthly subscriptions, but over time, those costs can add up.
I encourage any and every one to take advantage of the different relief efforts that are being offered. With the continued uncertainty of exactly how long we’ll be living during these unusual times, its very wise to save as much as possible while you can.
