Brownfields Assessment, Cleanup and Multipurpose Grant Applicants
There are 3 important upcoming events to support applicants:
- National EPA Grant Guideline Outreach Webinar: Potential applicants are invited to participate in an upcoming webinar with EPA to review and address questions about the solicitations. The webinar is scheduled for Monday, September 14, 2020 at 11:30 AM MDT. - Region 8 Applicant Outreach Webinar: EPA’s Region 8 Denver Office invites potential applicants to join local staff in a webinar that will review similar information to the national webinar on the FY21 MAC Grants as well as offer additional opportunity for addressing regional questions about the guidelines. This webinar is scheduled for Thursday, September 24, 2020 at 10:30am MDT. Participants may join via Microsoft Teams or by conference call. - TAB Webinar 2020 Brownfield MAC Grants: Preparing a Competitive Application on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at 12:00pm MDT. Technical Assistance to Brownfields (TAB) providers will go over the do’s and don’ts of preparing a competitive grant application and provide an overview of the changes to the guidelines since last year. The Webinar will also highlight TAB resources and e-tools available to assist you with developing your best application. As a reminder, TAB providers (KSU for Region 8) can review drafts of the Multipurpose, Assessment, and Cleanup grant proposals at no cost! KSU TAB also has a TAB EZ grant writing tool.
Remember to contact your partners and tell them you are planning to apply for the grant, especially your state environmental department’s brownfields contact. The sooner you do this in the process the better. Brownfields and Opportunity Zones Webinar
The Council of Development Finance Agencies (CDFA) will be hosting a webinar on how Opportunity Zones can help finance brownfields redevelopment projects. CDFA will examine the current regulations of Opportunity Zones, how communities are preparing themselves for Opportunity Zone investments, and how this tool can fit into the capital stack of a brownfield site in your community.
