Enhancing and Implementing Homeownership Programs in Native Communities
Host: Enterprise Community Partners
Time: March 25-June 10

Enterprise’s Rural and Native American Program is excited to announce this Call for Applications for participation in the Enhancing and Implementing Homeownership Programs in Native Communities training program. This course is designed to build on the Tribal Leaders Handbook on Homeownership developed by the Center for Indian Country Development and Enterprise Community Partners and will enable practitioners to delve into the components of creating homeownership opportunities; determining existing assets, identifying gaps, and outlining concrete next steps.

Twenty-five participants will be selected to participate in the training. The curriculum consists of twelve on-line sessions beginning March 25th – June 10th, 2021. Multiple staff from each organization can participate. Examples of participants include: a homeownership counselor, a tribe’s lead housing staff person, a TDHE or nonprofit organization’s housing practitioner or executive director, or a member of Tribal Council interested in expanding housing options. The course combines hands-on, participatory activities, small group exercises, and large group discussions.
