Module II: IHBG-CARES – Addressing Community and Housing Safety Needs

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act (Public Law 116-136), signed March 27, 2020, is the largest economic stimulus bill in US history and intended to support communities, organizations, and individuals during the Coronavirus pandemic. This $2.2 trillion program, includes $200 million for the Indian Housing Block Grant (IHBG-CARES) program. This funding is available to help operate IHBG programs and combat the pandemic.

TRAINING – This June 16 webinar is the second in a series designed to assist tribes and tribally designated housing entities understand their role in responding to a pandemic, such as COVID-19, and steps that can be taken to reduce its impact in the workplace and surrounding community. Agenda items will include communication strategies, strategies for both working virtually and returning to in-person work, implementing a screening and testing strategy, addressing community needs, and future considerations for housing management.
